ABOUT

BELIEF #1

Let kids be wild!

Childhood is for running barefoot, building forts, and getting muddy. Let them soak it all up—they only get one shot at being this carefree.

BELIEF #2

Hugs now, independence later.

Want a confident kid? Spoil them with connection now, so they’ll feel secure enough to take on the world later.

BELIEF #3

Crying isn’t manipulation.

When kids cry, they’re talking to us—so listen up! Sometimes they need a cuddle, not a timeout.

I'M SANDY

I’m someone who thrives on a mix of wild adventures and cosy comforts. I love being outdoors, hiking up hills in search of the perfect cloud inversion, and taking my two doggies for long walks. It’s a good thing they keep me active because I’ve got a serious love for Mexican food—I could happily eat it every night! I’m also a sucker for a pink sky, always stopping to snap a photo when the clouds put on a show.

When it came to naming my business, I kept coming back to the idea of wild horizons. I’ve always believed that children should be allowed to be children. If they come home with scraped knees from climbing trees and muddy puddles splattered up their legs, I think that’s a sign of an amazing day. This philosophy shaped Wildhood Sleep, where my goal is to honour the magic of childhood—letting kids be their wild, wonderful selves while ensuring they get the rest they need for all the adventures ahead.

MY STORY

During my nannying days, I spent countless hours helping families navigate sleepless nights and figuring out how to meet each child’s unique sleep needs. Every family was different, but they all had one thing in common: they desperately wanted their little ones to sleep! Over 20+ years as a nanny and newborn care specialist, I realised I had a knack for it. Babies just seemed to sleep better under my care, and for a long time, I thought I was just lucky. But then I discovered the real reason—sleep shaping and setting up strong wind-down routines were my secret weapons.

I started working with babies as young as four weeks, helping them establish great sleep habits in gentle, baby-led ways without rigid sleep training. Seeing how well it worked—and how much relief it brought to exhausted families—I knew I wanted to take my passion further. That’s how Wildhood Sleep was born: to help parents get the rest they deserve while nurturing their connection with their little ones.

In the early days, I started by sharing my knowledge within my community. I trained as a maternity nurse, and soon enough, word spread. People began reaching out, asking if I could bring my sleep "magic" to their homes! But I didn’t want to rely on intuition alone; I wanted to deeply understand the science of sleep. That’s when I enrolled in the Holistic Sleep Coaching Program.

The course went far beyond traditional sleep training, exploring how things like low iron, oral ties, and a baby’s temperament can impact sleep. My experience with highly sensitive babies had already shown me that the "one-size-fits-all" sleep methods just didn’t work for every family. Combining my years of hands-on experience with the knowledge I gained through the program, I launched Wildhood Sleep with one clear mission: to offer tailored, gentle sleep solutions that genuinely help families thrive.

It’s been an incredible journey, and I can honestly say I’ve never looked back!

"Simply amazing.

As a pediatric nurse practitioner myself, I had exhausted every “classic” fix to poor sleep, including sleep training. Despite this, our sweet son continued to struggle with short naps and early morning wakings, and it was taking a toll on all of us. Within days of working with Sandy, I was having to wake our son from naps, and we are now sleeping past his desired wake time. He is happier, we are happier and I cannot thank Sandy enough for all she has done for our family. She was always readily available for questions, and gave a very detailed written summary of her assessment and recommendations. I undoubtedly will recommend her to friends, neighbors and patients!"

"Sandy at Wildhood Sleep is an experienced, compassionate sleep expert who has helped us to transform the way our 6 month old baby sleeps.

We previously struggled with short and inconsistent naps in the day, and frequent wakings with difficulty to resettle at night. Thanks to Sandy, we now have a schedule that works for us and a baby that can settle and nap up to 2 hours at a time on his own. We've gone from 5-6 wakings per night to just 1-2, which typically last less than 15 minutes each.

Wildhood Sleep's holistic approach was gentle yet effective and designed specifically for our baby's needs and behaviours. Our whole household is so grateful to be sleeping better, thanks to Sandy!"
